Mission Statement:  The focus is on providing emergency assistance to families in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park, east of Hwy. 101.  SVdP provides food, rent and utility assistance, essential furniture and appliances.  It also provides a hot meal program, summer camp opportunities, back to school” supplies for children, and holiday programs providing food boxes and toys.  Our volunteers provide follow-up to clients when necessary and help the families at all hours.

 

On-going Activities:

 

  1. Responding to the emergency need of families.

Teams of volunteers respond to approximately 15 emergency calls/day from families requesting assistance.

  1. Providing a once/week hot meal program.

Hot meals are served on Mondays for all who come to the dining area.

   

Recent Activities:

 

     1.  Summer Camp program

           63 children were sent to summer camp.

2.  “Back to School” program

130 backpacks were delivered.

     3.   Holiday programs

           Over 200 families were helped with Thanksgiving food and over 300

           families were helped with both food and toys at Christmas.

 

When Meet:   2nd Sunday of each month, 8:30 a.m.

                        4th Monday of each month, 7:00 p.m.
