CENTERING PRAYER

Also known as the “Prayer of Silence,” Centering Prayer is a meditation practice and discipline designed to foster and deepen our relationship with God.  It is not meant to replace other forms of prayer, but to cast new light and depth of meaning on them.  Based on an ancient tradition, the Centering Prayer movement was co-founded by Fr. Thomas Keating, a Trappist monk.  It is promoted through Contemplative Outreach, a spiritual network of individuals and small faith-sharing communities committed to living the contemplative dimension of the Gospel in everyday life through the practice of Centering Prayer.  For additional information and resources, contact www.contemplativeoutreach.org.
